I have a question for you? What have you been saying to yourself lately? What have you be saying to those around you? Today, my goal is to remind you today of the power of your words. The Bible says death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Therefore, here are three things to remember if you are going to be able to effectively use that power God has given you:

  1. You are made in the image of God.  God said, “Let us make man in our image.” How does that impact our ability to effectively use the power of our words? God speaks things into existence that first exist in the spirit realm. Roman 4:17 says God is the one Who calls those things that be not as though they exist. Therefore, we must imitate our God and use our words to cause what we see in the spirit realm through the eyes of our faith to manifest in the natural realm.
  2. Jesus lives in you. Colossians 1:27 says that Christ in you is the hope of glory. Also, you have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). Words are formulated in the mind as thoughts first. Therefore, when you speak the Word (or the thoughts) of God, It’s as if Jesus is speaking. You are His mouthpiece. When you speak the Word, He speaks.
  3. Jesus desires to do great works through you. Jesus said in John 14:12, “Greater works shall ye do.” He also said in Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Therefore by faith, we should expect to do what Jesus did and believe God can use us to heal the sick, raise the dead, and drive out demons as well.

With that being said, when we recognize and meditate on these truths, our faith for God to perform signs, wonders, and miracles through us should soar! You are made in the image of God and you are able to create things by the power of speaking His Word. Furthermore, the words you speak are not just idle words floating in the air, and it’s not just you alone doing whatever you can. Jesus lives in you, He is speaking through you, and when Jesus speaks, He gets results, Amen?

Isaiah 55:11 says His Word will not return to Him without accomplishing what He sent it to do. In summary, this is the thought  I want you to get a hold of today: WHEN YOU SPEAK THE WORD, JESUS IS SPEAKING, AND THEREFORE, YOU SHOULD EXPECT RESULTS. Jesus said, “According to your faith be it unto you” (Matthew 9:29). The question is do you believe it? Mark 11:23, For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Therefore, I want to challenge you to meditate on this thought today: “I believe God’s Word spoken through me will get the job done.”
