Brain Gears Oiled Ratch0013
I pray that the blessings of God are chasing you down and overtaking you! He wants to do great things in your life and use you in a mighty way. In order for that to happen, it’s imperative that we think the way our Creator thinks. That is why Romans 12:2 says be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.

I recently discovered an area where I needed to renew my own mind. In one week I had three different occasions where I felt people had said things to me to boost their self-esteem at my expense, appearing to build themselves up while attempting to tear me down. I got angry and said to myself and God, “They know exactly what they are doing!”

One day shortly after those three incidents I was in my kitchen preparing a meal and having a conversation with God about this, and He said to me, “They don’t know what they are doing.” I asked, “How can they not know what they are doing?” He brought to mind 2 Timothy 2:24-26 which says:

The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

I was able to glean the following insights from this passage:

  1. They are deceived by a lie Satan is feeding them at the moment. Satan is telling them that they have to operate in a certain manner to get their deepest needs met instead of depending on God to meet their needs. If they knew better they would do better.
  2. They really don’t know what they are doing. If a group of people murdered Jesus and He said, “Forgive them because they know not what they do,” then it could be possible that people really don’t know what they are doing when they are engaging in behavior that is far less hurtful.
  3. They are being controlled by the enemy himself. The devil operates through people’s soul wounds to hurt those around them. As the old saying goes, “Hurt people hurt people.”

Furthermore, God said when I say they know what they are doing, and He says they don’t, I am exalting my knowledge against His. 2 Corinthians 10:13 Says, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting  imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” God was showing me that I needed to bring my thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ.

Do you have any thoughts that are exalting themselves against the knowledge of God? Ask the Holy Spirit where your thinking needs to be changed. Once He has revealed to you the thoughts you have that are contrary to his Word, then it’s up to you to meditate on and confess the Word out loud so that you will believe right and agree with Almighty God. Only then will the fiery darts of the enemy launched against you through people be quenched.
